Willard is weird While one might accurately describe Willard as Crispin Glover’s first starring role in a “major” film, first an important distinction must be made: major doesn’t necessarily mean mainstream Willard tells the timeless tale of one man’s struggle for power over the enormous tribe of large rodents inhabiting his basement. Rats are like people. If you feed them, you can lead them. |

| Willard (Crispin Glover) wins the hearts and minds of a disturbingly large rat tribe by giving them food. He then uses their allegiance by taking advantage of their greatest asset : their cold blooded ability to swarm human prey. But Willard’s hold on power is brief. When Willard loses his job and is no longer able to support his army of rats, a large kangaroo-like rat named “Ben” emerges to challenge his totalitarian regime. The brutal murder of Willard's comrade and chosen successor, a small albino rat called “Socrates”, triggers a full-scale war of man against rat. The result is bloody genocide, the loss of a regime, the destruction of a kingdom, and a lesson in history. Willard is fun for the whole family. |
