Metal Woman Recycles Self for
Spare Change
Tragedy struck in the form of a meteor for
Nevada resident Tanya Melody on a warm Summer
evening when she was struck by a small object
from another world.
"It felt like someone drove over me with a Harley"
Since she was struck by that meteor, her body has
gradually been turning into solid steel. The
transformation has been hard on Tanya, who had to
give up her high paying job at the magnet factory
in Pioche, Nevada.
"She kept getting stuck in the machines"
-Tanya's former supervisor
Fortunately for Tanya, the kind of metal that she is
turning into is one that is highly valued by heavy
industry. Analysts have found that her metallic parts
are extremely high in chromium, molybdenum, nickel and
nitrogen, giving her unique corrosion resistant properties.
Several large industrial plants are now interested in hiring
Tanya on a "contract" basis, and speculation continues to
circulate about her ability to regenerate those valuable metal
pieces.
So far, hopes for full metal regeneration look "promising" and
if all goes well for Tanya, she will be able to harvest herself
for her precious metal parts again early next spring.
"If she can keep up the good work, she can literally turn
herself into a human goldmine."
